Prepare a Proposal

Below are step-by-step instructions for preparing a proposal. Note that there are some features that should already be established in Business Options.


Locate the customer you wish to prepare a proposal for in the Customer Manager, click the hyperlink in the Estimate ID column to open the estimate and click the Print Proposal icon.





If this is the first time you are creating a proposal for this customer, there is some data that will be blank in the Mail Merge form. This form is completely editable so you can change any of the default data.


Fill in the appropriate fields as described in the topic Mail Merge.


Select the proposal template appropriate for the agreement type you have estimated and click the 'Word' icon to merge the data. Word will open the template and populate the document according to the data you have entered.


IMPORTANT: When you are finished reviewing the proposal and are satisfied that it is deliverable as it was created, click 'File' then 'Save As' in the menu bar. Name and save the document in an appropriate folder for retrieval later.
